Privacy
Last updated:
Short version: We don’t run ads, sell data, or track individual users. Our site exists to help families build mindful tech habits — not to harvest attention.
Who we are
MindRevia is a community-led organization based in NH, USA, focused on presence and mindful tech habits. Contact: contact@mindrevia.org.
Governance & data controller: MindRevia is operated by a small volunteer team in New Hampshire. For purposes of privacy laws, the data controller for this website is MindRevia (contact above).
Data we avoid collecting
- No accounts, no log-ins, no paywall.
- No advertising identifiers or cross-site tracking pixels.
- No face images: our artwork uses animals/abstract forms.
Data we may process (minimal)
- Server logs generated automatically (IP address, user agent, the page requested, timestamp). We use these to keep the site secure and diagnose issues. We typically keep raw logs for up to 30 days, unless needed longer to investigate abuse.
- Email if you contact us. We use it to reply and then retain messages only as long as needed for records and legal obligations.
- Embedded media you choose to play (e.g., YouTube). We use the youtube-nocookie.com embed to reduce tracking; however, the provider may still collect data under their policies once you press play.
Cookies & local storage
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not set tracking pixels. Your device may store a small preference such as dark mode in local storage. If we introduce privacy-preserving measurements in the future, we’ll explain them here first.
Note: Embedded videos from third parties may set their own cookies once you press play; you can choose not to engage with embeds.
Third-party platforms & links
Some content is hosted on third-party platforms (e.g., YouTube). Their data collection is governed by their own policies. We don’t control those systems. Opening their links or playing an embed is your choice.
Legal bases for processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)
- Legitimate interests: provide the website, prevent abuse, ensure security.
- Consent: you choose to play an embedded video or send us email.
- Legal obligation: retain information if required by law.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/UK, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. If you are in California, you may have rights under CCPA/CPRA (access, deletion, and information about sharing). To exercise rights, email contact@mindrevia.org. We’ll verify reasonable requests and respond within applicable timelines.
Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Our site is informational for families and educators. If you believe a child provided us with personal information, contact us so we can delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (HTTPS, access controls, and least-privilege practices) to protect the limited data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
International transfers
Our site may be hosted in the United States or other locations. By using the site, you understand your information may be processed outside your region where laws may differ.
Do Not Track
Many browsers offer “Do Not Track.” We don’t serve ads or behavioral tracking and therefore do not change our practices when receiving DNT signals.
Changes
We may update this notice as our practices evolve. Material changes will be highlighted here for 30 days. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated notice.
Security & responsible disclosure
If you find a security issue, please email contact@mindrevia.org with the subject “security disclosure.” We appreciate reports that avoid accessing personal data and allow time to fix the issue.
Not professional advice
Information on this site is for general educational purposes and does not constitute medical, psychological, legal, or other professional advice. If you need personal guidance, consult a qualified professional.
